Bob Pennycook

I’m inspired by the landscape that surrounds me. My art is an expressive interpretation of the shapes, colours, textures, rhythm and patterns of that landscape.

Using a personal approach to colour, I build layers of patterns through soaking, scraping, wiping and direct painting techniques.  Colour provides the emotional impact; the techniques complete the story.

I work mainly with acrylics but I also create with oils, and with water based monoprints

I’ve been a working artist for almost 25 years and my work has been featured in juried shows in both Canada and the United States. I also teach art in both Canada and the U.S.

Currently, I’m represented by Gallery 87 in Perth, ON and by Dancing Moon Gallery in Deseronto, ON. My work is also available for licensing through Parcai Designs in Dallas, TX, U.S.
