The Bay of Quinte Art & Wine Festival

Juried Art Competition, 2017

 

The Rotary Club of Quinte Sunrise is pleased to present the Bay of Quinte Art & Wine Festival Juried Art Competition (the competition). To participate in the competition the following conditions are required to be met.

Eligibility

Entrants in the competition must be a:

-       Registered art vendor participating in the Festival and has signed a vendor contract and either paid the associated vendor fees or be registered as a sponsored artist. There are no additional costs to enter the juried competition.

-       Canadian citizens or permanent resident as of June 10, 2017.

Each booth is permitted to enter one piece of work into the competition.  If a single booth is being shared between two artists, one entry per artist is permitted.

Artists participating in the Festival are not compelled to enter into the competition; entry is voluntary.

Submission Guidelines

Entrants may submit one piece of art or hand-made artisan item for adjudication. This can be a painting, a sculpture, a bowl or an item of hand-made jewelry, etc. The competition is open to all of the talents and skills of Festival participants.

Submitting more than one piece of art will result in the disqualification of all entries.

To enter into the competition, artists must submit a minimum of one and a maximum of four images (jpeg format) of a single piece of work by email to boq.art.wine@gmail.com. Entries must be received no later than 11:59 pm on June 3, 2017.

The original piece of work that has been entered into the competition must be on display in the artist’s booth at the Festival on June 10, 2017.

Photo Release

Entrants grant permission for the Bay of Quinte Art & Wine Festival/Rotary Club of Quinte Sunrise to:

-       Reproduce their submitted work by print and electronic media for the purpose of advertising and promoting the Bay of Quinte Art & Wine Festival Juried Prize and the Bay of Quinte Art & Wine Festival People’s Choice Award.

-       Post the image(s) of submitted work to the Festival website and social media pages for public viewing prior to the Festival.

Adjudication & Awards

Juried Prize

An independent jury of three people will review and judge all the entries from the submitted digital images only.  The adjudication of entries is at the sole discretion of the jurors. Their decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Juried Prize of $1000.00 will be awarded on June 10th, 2017 at the Festival.

People’s Choice Award

The public attending the Festival on June 10th, 2017 will be provided with a ballot to vote on the pieces of work entered into the competition.

The People’s Choice Award of $500.00 will be awarded on June 13, 2017. The winner will be contacted by phone or by email.
